Daily reading

Automatic text

Fills the next three days of the daily reading with the full Daily Office set — psalms, Old Testament, New Testament, and gospel — in the public-domain World English Bible, replacing default seeded readings and trimming past auto-filled days. It refreshes on its own each night; the button does it now. Readings you save by hand are kept.

Admin help

Run things smoothly

Use this as the in-app checklist for normal admin work. Prefer small, clear changes, then check the public page on a phone.

Weekly pass

Open Gathering and check date, time, host, liturgy, RSVP count, and delivery readiness.
Open the public gathering room and make sure the card reads clearly on mobile.
Check Content, Caring, and Updates for anything stale.

Gathering setup

Use Save gathering when date, time, home, and address are ready.
If the date, time, or place changes, review the clear-RSVP and clear-host-offer options before saving.
Reschedule and cancellation notices tell members to update their calendars.
Use Host needed when no host is set; members can then tap I can host.
Use Cancel gathering when this gathering is not happening.
Use Start over only when you want the card to say Not scheduled yet and clear RSVPs and host offers.

Host offers

When someone volunteers, their offer appears in the Gathering checklist.
Confirm one offer only when it includes a usable address.
Confirming copies that host/location into the gathering and declines other offers for that date.

Liturgies

Open Content to add and manage liturgy PDFs.
Use the same date as the gathering card.
Keep the title short and recognizable.
After upload, open Liturgies and check that the PDF preview scrolls and the gathering glyph opens the right PDF.

People

Open People to manage invites, roles, passwords, and notification readiness.
Create narrow invite codes and revoke anything no longer needed.
Reset a password only when the member asks; give the temporary password directly to them.
Promote admins only if they should manage gatherings, invites, rooms, reading, announcements, and delivery checks.

Rooms

Create a new room only when the topic will last.
Prefer casual, gathering, reflection, or Caring for ordinary needs.
Deleting a non-protected room permanently removes its messages, photos, PDFs, and memberships.

Content

Open Content for liturgies, daily readings, lectionary citations, and Centering prep.
Prepare the next two weeks when possible.
Use public-domain or properly licensed text.
Keep paragraph breaks in Centering so readings do not feel run together.

Delivery

Open Delivery for announcements, SMS tests, and notification logs.
Use announcements sparingly; they notify people beyond the current room.
Send a test text to yourself before sending one to everyone.
For normal logistics, a message in gathering or casual is usually better.

Troubleshooting

If someone misses notifications, check Profile phone, text opt-in, quiet hours, and device notification permission.
If a link or PDF looks wrong, open it from the public page, not only from Admin.
If a gathering looks stale, use the top refresh glyph or reopen the Home Screen app.

Notifications and texts

Enable device notifications in Profile or Updates. Desktop browsers use the same button; iPhone notifications require the Home Screen app.

Texts use your Profile phone number and text opt-in. They are reserved for mentions, RSVP changes, caring updates, and urgent gathering changes.

Privacy

Members can see your display name, profile details including birthday, room posts, RSVPs, and care items. Phone numbers, addresses, and text preferences are kept for account and notification use; admins can see them when needed to help run the group.

Next gathering

The gathering room shows the next date, time, location, liturgy shortcut, RSVP buttons, and who has responded.

Rooms and rhythm

Use gathering for the next gathering, casual for conversation, reflection for longer thoughts, and Reading, Centering, Caring, and Liturgies for shared practice.

Signing in

Use your username and password. If you forget either one, use Forgot username or Forgot password on the sign-in screen; ask an admin if your recovery info is missing.

Posting

Write in the message box for the room you are in. Links become tappable previews, and the attachment button lets you add photos or PDFs.

Updates

Updates shows the latest activity. Device notifications and texts are separate: notifications go to your browser or Home Screen app, and texts are only for high-signal items.

Gathering changes

Admins can schedule, cancel, reschedule, or start over. Important changes appear on the gathering card and may notify everyone.

Liturgies

Liturgies are PDFs tied to gathering dates. Open one to read the PDF and use the discussion below it for comments about that liturgy.

Post in casual or gathering if something is confusing, or ask an admin directly. Admins can help with invites, account access, and gathering setup.
